In 1977, Curtis Knight Sr. founded the first Central Rent-2-Own store in Ontario, Oregon as a TV repair shop, working to provide the best customer service in town. As time went on, we started to add more and more services to the business and after ten years, we officially transitioned to the rent-to-own industry. We love that renting-to-own offers our valued customers flexibility, affordability, and convenience!

Our History & Mission
From the tiny TV repair shop in Ontario, OR with the slogan "We don't sell TV's, we repair them," Central has grown and changed quite a bit over the years into a rent to own company with four locations covering the Treasure Valley of Idaho and Eastern Oregon. Though our business model has adapted over the years, our mission has never changed: "Treat the customer the way you would want to be treated" has always been the focus.
Currently, the second generation of the Knight family operates Central Rent-2-Own and continues to grow the family business. While not every Central employee is a Knight, they might as well be, because at Central, we’re family. We consider each and every employee and customer as part of the family and we make sure to treat them as such.
Serving Our Community
We are proud to say we’ve been a part of your community for over four generations. We now have four stores in Idaho and Oregon and are committed to servicing Boise, Idaho, Southern Idaho, and Eastern Oregon. Many of our customers have been renting with us for years and, in fact, their children have grown up and have now started to shop with us as well!
Many of our employees are involved in teaching or leading in their church, coaching local youth sports teams, and serving on various boards in their communities. We truly believe that actions speak louder than words and at Central, we’re here to show our communities how much we care.
